バリデーションの母、ナオミ・ファイル氏の訃報について

2023年12月24日にバリデーションの創始者ナオミ・ファイル氏がご逝去されました。91才でした。
公認日本バリデーション協会より謹んで哀悼の意を表します。

We still cannot accept the news of Naomi Feil’s death.
You gave hope to seniors living with cognitive loss around the world. It brought joy to life. No matter what state a person is in, they should be accepted as human beings until the end. You taught me that older people have unresolved issues throughout their long lives. And we learned that older people living with cognitive loss need people who can empathize with their challenges and feelings. Many nurses and caregivers encountered validation and found joy in working with elderly people living with loss of cognitive function. I started to take pride in my own work. We can now learn a lot from elderly people who live with loss of cognitive function.
We will never forget you. When we spend time with the elderly, we will appreciate the people in front of us. And I also want to thank you.
Our friends at the Japan Validation Association extend our deepest condolences to Naomi Feil. And I’m grateful for having met Naomi Feil.
